Why Take Online Millinery Courses?
Our Live Millinery Classes
Since the COVID-19 pandemic has hit, we only run online workshops using easy-to-use platforms like Zoom. This is to help keep the millinery community safe. While online learning stops physical access to your tutor, it opens up the possibility of learning from many more teachers. We encourage you to follow this practice, both with Millinery Hub and other millinery teachers out there. Workshops run online, live and in-person via video. This means that more people than ever have access to the skills they need to make a hat for the first time or combine with their experience to further their millinery repertoire.
Of course, because these millinery courses run at home, you’ll need to make sure you have your own millinery materials before we start. The millinery materials you’ll need for the course are outlined on the course’s page description, which you can review at the time of booking. If students have questions about the millinery supplies they’ll need, they can contact us for all the details. You can buy the supplies you need from your materials list here on millinery hub if you don’t have access to them already.
Besides all of our live online millinery courses, we have a range of recorded workshops and millinery classes by Waltraud Reiner that are available to stream online. Learn millinery from the very best!
Meet Your Millinery Course Tutor
I’m Lindsey Whitehead, owner and Director of Millinery Hub. I’ve been in the millinery business for many years. My journey into professional millinery began in 2007 when I studied pattern making and sewing at Wagga TAFE. I attended my first millinery course as part of my studies, which means I know exactly what it’s like for millinery students out there trying to get started or improve their training. From my very first millinery course, I was in love with hats, millinery techniques and hat design. My passion for millinery took me to the theatre, where I soon started winning awards for my creations. I entered the millinery business as a supplier and retailer after my move to Melbourne, and I’ve been sharing my trade secrets ever since. I’m excited to connect with millinery students looking to learn new millinery techniques, and can’t wait to see you on my next millinery course.
Want to learn millinery with a bit more freeform? I also offer weekly Virtual Open Workroom Classes on Thursdays at 11 am Melbourne time. You are welcome to join via the link below if you want to try it out and learn even more hat-making techniques. Unlike a traditional millinery course, these classes are far more informal, and instead more like an online get-together where you can meet new people, share your thoughts, learn millinery together, ask advice, or spend time with other hat makers. If you love hats, it’s the perfect place to be. We’d love to see you there.
