Hand-woven laichow (rice straw) braid approximately 10mm wide sewn in together to make a capeline. These capelines can be stiffened (we recommend lacquer-based stiffener like Powder Stiffener) and blocked. They offer fantastic sun protection as there are no holes in the weave, like many other straw hats. Available in a range of colours, this straw can’t be dyed at home but can be painted for some interesting effects.
